  I had a nightmare of an experience with Dr. Bateman at Kaiser's San Rafael ER. If you find yourself in this ER and see a large man with red hair approaching, I highly suggest you run. I found Dr. Bateman to be highly unprofessional and not thorough. I was nearly discharged while entirely unfit. I had to beg and plead to get labs done after he had canceled the order, even after my blood had been drawn. Treatment for severe hyperglycemia was an afterthought that wouldn't have happened had I not been persistent, but still wasn't complete as he gave the bad advice to discontinue antibiotics I'd just been given the day before Post discharge, I went on to get sicker and required 3 rounds of antibiotics to deal with a resistant bacterial infection. This is the sort of thing you can expect from Kaiser if you ever lodge a serious complaint -- you can expect to have your health used as a pawn in a high stakes game of retaliation, intimidation and manipulation. Like a nasty little frat boy, Dr. Bateman illegally entered medical code into my chart with no other purpose than to convey to other doctors that I was a pain. His medical record fraud didn't stop there - he wrote I reported my pain was 'better' when I reported the exact opposite, it was worse. He also didn't note other important symptoms such as fevers I told him I'd been treating with tylenol, and claimed my CT scan was normal when it wasn't. His entire record of the visit is full fraud and bad intent. I see many R99's in Dr. Bateman's future.
